Quickpad
A panel of buttons that types for you. Click one and your note goes into Cliniko, or any other program, exactly where your cursor is.
Group your buttons into coloured families, edit them in a simple built-in editor, and run any of them from the panel or a shortcut key.
Quickpad types into the window you were last using: Cliniko, a browser, an email, a letter. Dates, Tab, Enter and key presses are all part of a button, so a whole note header goes in with one click.
A Time saved tab counts the words it typed for you and works out your day, week and year.
Big buttons with clear outlines. Light, Dark or High contrast.
Set Ctrl+Alt+1, or any F key, and the button types wherever you are. No need to switch windows.
When the pointer moves away, the panel fades and rolls up to a slim bar. Point at it and it's back. Shortcut keys still work while it's rolled up.
Undo last removes what a button just typed. Backups run on a schedule and can go to Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive. Updates arrive inside the app, signed, with no reinstalling.
Dictation is worked out on the computer itself. The recording isn't sent anywhere and isn't saved to disk.
Speech is turned into text locally by whisper.cpp. Quickpad suggests the right speech model for the computer it's on.
You see what it heard, with any corrections highlighted, and can fix a word before anything goes into the note.
Add the terms you use, and teach corrections like "when it hears X, type Y". They follow your buttons to another computer.
Optional AI notes are the one feature that sends text off the computer: consult text goes to Anthropic's API, which is processed overseas. It's off until you add a key, asks first on each computer, and every note is shown to read and edit before it's pasted in.
Buttons understand TypeItIn-style commands, so existing buttons carry straight over. Import them from a spreadsheet in one step.

Pick it, tick the groups you want, and they appear as Quickpad families with their names, text and colours.
Copy datafile.enc from the Windows computer, or any dated backup like datafile.enc.250401. A USB stick or Google Drive is fine.
Settings › Buttons › Import from TypeItIn…, then choose the file. Encrypted or not, it's read the same way.
Leave out the ones you don't need. Your current buttons are backed up first and never replaced.
TypeItIn's lists with titles, questions that remember the answer, and Shift / Ctrl keys all work. A few rare commands such as Dialog and WinWait don't. Buttons that use them still come in, and Quickpad tells you which.
Made for Linux Mint. One file, one double-click.
Updates arrive inside Quickpad: click Check for updates at the bottom of the panel. Every update is signed, and Quickpad refuses one that isn't. The first time it opens, Quickpad offers to set up dictation (a few minutes, needs the internet).
